RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
Live at Pinkpop Festival 2008 DVD

Concert Review:
This 83-minute spectacle at Pinkpop Festival 2008 documents Rage Against The Machine in full force. From “Bombtrack” to “Killing In The Name,” the band rides a relentless wave of intensity, putting every ounce of political fire and musical aggression into each song. Zack de la Rocha’s vocal delivery is savage, Morello bends the guitar to his will, the rhythm section (Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk) locks in tight and punishing, and the crowd is on the edge of breakdown.

Standout moments: “Bulls On Parade” rips the speakers with its signature riffs; “People Of The Sun” drives home the urgency; “Down Rodeo” gives a deeper cut that shows off their range; the encore of “Freedom” and “Killing In The Name” is cathartic and explosive.

Weaknesses: pacing sometimes feels compressed—some songs are rushed compared to live-full versions; less room for experimentation or improvisation given the festival constraints. Still, as a document of Rage in a festival setting, it captures their essential energy, anger, and stage presence.

Concert Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)
One of the stronger festival‐performances preserved on DVD: excellent for fans and newcomers alike.
